ESPFA MATCHWEEK REVIEW - #MatchweekThree

Updated: Nov 19, 2020

During the half-term, while most of our students were taking a hard-earned break from the programme, one game went ahead in the Northern Division between Skelmersdale United and Radcliffe.

NORTHERN DIVISION

Skelmersdale United hosted Radcliffe in the solo game that was played in #MatchweekThree. Due to being involved in an impressive FA Youth Cup run where they reached the third qualifying round, this was Skelmersdale United’s first game of the season. The sides split the points after the game finished 2-2. Radcliffe opened the scoring on 22 minutes after David Fayomi put the visitors in the lead. Skelmersdale United started the second half on fire and were level straight after the break thanks to Dave meadows and a well worked goal from Josh Niblock gave them the lead with 15 minutes to play. Skem looked to be heading to a win in their first game of the season but a brilliant solo effort from Robert Dobrzanski late on in the game burst their bubble and earned Radcliffe a point. With a win, a draw and a loss from their three games, Radcliffe are currently third in the Northern Division.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

With only one game played on Thursday, Team of the Week has been replaced with Player of the Week. Congratulations to all players nominated by their coaches and a special mention to Skelmersdale United student Jack Banks, who's valiant performance between the sticks on Thursday earned him the title of 'Player of the Week!'.

HIGHLIGHTS

As usual, all of the goals and match action can be seen on this week’s addition of the Highlights Show.
