Congratulations to former ESPFA Derbyshire student, Finn Barker who made his first-team debut for Mickleover in last night’s Northern Premier League fixture against Derbyshire rivals Matlock Town.
He becomes the 69th ESPFA student to make a competitive debut for the first team of our partner clubs, whilst also being the third player this year that has come through the ESPFA Derbyshire Academy and played for Mickleover.
Barker started the game on the bench but was brought on in the second half with his side 1-0 down and striving for an equaliser.
It’s a great success to see students who have passed through the ESPFA recruitment progress into senior football and get a foothold in the semi-professional game.
