INTER-LEAGUE SIDE V PORT VALE FC

The NPL Football Academy is delighted to announced it has arranged the first inter-league fixture of the 2016-17 season.

Port Vale will be the opposition on Monday 10th April 2017 at Kidsgrove Athletic FC (7pm kick off)

The NPLFA inter-league side was created last season as a reward for those students who had impressed throughout the year and also to showcase the talent that we have across the programme.

The first game took place at Radcliffe Borough FC on Wednesday 4th May against Oldham Athletic and resulted in a 2-0 win for our students with goals from Euan Woods and Josh Bullock.

In the next game, two weeks later on Thursday 19th May we were defeated 0-4 by a strong and talented Accrington Stanley side at Mossley FC.

An NPLFA spokesman commented “We are excited the inter-league games have returned. Both games last year were a fantastic spectacle and they were both well received by students and their family/friends but also from the professional clubs who were impressed with our talent and hospitality.

I would like to thank Mick Ede and everyone at Port Vale for agreeing to play us and also to Ian Cooper and everyone at Port Vale for allowing us their use of their lovely ground with a superb surface that will suit both our students and Port Vale Scholars alike.”

The date of the fixture is subject to Port Vale’s fixtures around that time and may be rescheduled to a later date with full confirmation of the game to be announced in early March.

The NPLFA staff will now be in discussion and gather feedback from all our coaches for the squad which will be announced in early March.
