JOMA DIVISION PLAYER OF THE MONTH – JANUARY/ FEBRUARY

Congratulations to Carlton Town student Jack Cockram who has been named the JOMA ‘Player of the Month!’ for Januray/February. Read all about what Jack and the other nominees have achieved over the past two months.

Well done to Jack Cockram (Carlton Town), Oliver McDonough (Witton Albion FC), Taylor Draper (Stafford Rangers Football Club) and Sam Boyall (Belper Town FC) who were nominated for January/February ‘Player of the Month!’

Jack Cockram – Defender – Carlton Town

The Carlton defender has been in great form recently for the Nottinghamshire side who have won two out of three league games since the new year and took Mickleover Sports down to the wire in their NPLFA Cup quarter final. Cockram is a skilled defender, able to play at the heart of the defence or as a right back. He is very comfortable with the ball at his feet and despite not being the biggest defender, he heads the ball well. He has been selected in #TeamOfTheWeek in #MatchweekFifteen and #MatchweekEighteen, where he was also named ‘Player of the Week!’.

Oliver McDonough – Striker – Witton Albion FC

It has been a very rewarding period for Oliver McDonough in recent weeks, who has found the back of the net five times over three games. Perhaps the Witton striker’s best moment so far this season came in #MatchweekFourteen, where he scored a hat trick to help his team hand Mickleover Sports (Black) their first defeat of the season and McDonough was incidentally named in #TeamOfTheWeek for his efforts on this occasion. He has a very well rounded game for a striker, as he has the pace to run in behind defences and put them under pressure but also enjoys dropping deep to receive the ball and there is always a spark about the ground when he starts dribbling.

Taylor Draper – Defender – Stafford Rangers Football Club

A tall and looming presence at the back for Stafford, Draper has been class at the back for Rangers. He looks more than comfortable with the ball at his feet, he is able to play a variety of long and short-range passes and is a real leader at the heart of the Stafford defence. His side recently beat Belper Town 3-1 to pip them into the second spot in the JOMA Division. He was also nominated for #TeamOfTheWeek in #MatchweekFifteen after putting in a stellar performance.

Sam Boyall – Midfield – Belper Town FC

The Belper playmaker has played brilliantly in the four games his side have played since the new year. He has scored three times, with two coming in a 5-1 victory over Leek Town. The great performances that Boyall has been putting in earned him a place in #TeamOfTheWeek for #MatchweekSixteen and most recently in #MatchweekEighteen. The quick and nippy attacking midfielder loves to float between the lines which makes him impossible to pick up by defenders and he also possesses a rocket of a right-footed shot.
