In #MatchweekTwentyOne of the NPLFA season, just one game took place across both divisions. Mossley hosted Belper Town in a Joma Division match-up that saw the visitors trying to bounce back from a disappointing 0-7 defeat to Mickleover Sports last week. Mossley were looking to get their first win of the season and that’s exactly what they did after putting five past Belper, with the final score finishing 5-3.
Bruno Camara opened the scoring for the Lilywhites in the first half with an absolute screamer from nearly 30 yards but Belper managed to regroup after conceding. The Nailers hit back with 3 goals of their own before half time thanks to a double from Lewis Goddard and one from Will Eley. Two goals early on in the second half from Tcherno Djalo and Dylan Fitzgerald manged to level things up for the home-side and set up a brilliant ending to the fixture. Mossley managed to build on their second half momentum and scored two late goals through Bernard Baidoo Asare and another from the captain, Dylan Fitzgerald to ice the game and chalk up the first game in the win column for Mossley.
Congratulations to Mossley student Bruno Camara who was named ‘Player of the Week’ and also was given ‘Goal of the Week!’ for the second time in a row after his brilliant performances in #MatchweekTwentyOne. Well done to Dylan Fitzgerald (Mossley), Tcherno Djalo (Mossley), Josh Outen-Mann (Belper Town), Harry Birkinshaw (Belper Town) and Josh Gregory (Belper Town) who were also nominated.
