A record audience of more than three hundred players, managers, club officials and their friends and families saw Leeds United manager Steve Evans honour the stars of the season at the 2016 EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Player of the Year Awards.
And for the first time ever, the league’s next generation of stars were also represented, members of the NPL Football Academy’s Team of the Year and Player of the Year also collecting their accolades on stage from former Stamford, Boston, Crawley Town and Rotherham boss Evans and EVO-STIK NPL chairman Mark Harris.
The players were chosen based on the ‘Team of the Week’ votes throughout the season with the ‘Player of the Year’ chosen by the coaches and NPLFA management staff.
The ‘Player of the Year’ went to Belper Town captain Sam Weston after beating Euan Woods of Warrington Town and Beckham Adelaje of Mossley in second and third place respectively.
