SKELMERSDALE UNITED JOIN THE NPL FOOTBALL ACADEMY

The NPL Football Academy (NPLFA) is delighted to announce that Evo-Stik League West Division side Skelmersdale United have joined the programme taking the number of clubs to eighteen.

Club Secretary Dan Roberts is delighted with the news “We are delighted to have joined the NPL Football Academy, an education and football programme which will be an enabler for students to progress to a degree course alongside the experience of football development in an Academy League with other Northern based step three and step four clubs. The partnership is very much in keeping with our development strategy as we look to return the football club to the community of Skelmersdale in the very near future. We look forward to working alongside the NPLFA from 2019 and for many years to come”

An NPLFA spokesmen commented “We are excited to welcome Skelmersdale United to the programme from September 2019. Originally we were capping our new club intake to four but we have been impressed with their set up and their enthusiasm for the programme along with the interest we have had in the area already and we cannot wait to get started.”

There is a maximum of twenty-two places available for the Skelmersdale United Academy with the first trial to be held on Wednesday 12th December, from 4.45pm – 6pm at JMO Sports Park, Liverpool Road, Skelmersdale, WN8 8BX, with further trials taking place in February 2019, April 2019 and May 2019.
