SPORTS TRAIDER PLAYER OF THE MONTH – JANUARY/FEBRUARY

Congratulations to Runcorn Linnets student Jamie Hooper who has been named the Sports Traider ‘Player of the Month!’ for Januray/February. Read all about what Jamie and the other nominees have achieved over the past two months.

Well done to Elliot Denison (Brighouse Town Football Club), Jamie Hooper (Runcorn Linnets Football Club), Josh Satchwell (Mickleover Sports FC) and Amir Hajri (Widnes Football Club) for being nominated for January/February ‘Player of the Month!’

Elliot Denison – Midfield – Brighouse Town Football Club

The Brighouse midfielder has had a brilliant run over the past two months. Denison sits in the middle of the park for Brighouse and loves to get on the ball and dictate play. He was instrumental in Brighouse’s 3-0 win over Belper Town in #MatchweekThriteen and that performance earned him a spot on #TeamOfTheWeek.

Jamie Hooper – Midfield – Runcorn Linnets Football Club

Another brilliantly talented play-maker in the middle of the park, Hooper excels in the number 10 position or a little deeper in the number 8 position. His ball control is excellent and he can split open defences with his range of passing. Hoopers’ brilliant form in the past two months has been noted by his coach, as he has been included in #TeamOfTheWeek three times in a row, from #MatchweekFourteen to #MatchweekSixteen. On top of Hooper's brilliant performances, he seems to have really stepped up in recent weeks after fellow Runcorn Linnets playmaker, Aiden Brown has been out with a knee injury.

Josh Satchwell – Forward – Mickleover Sports FC

Satchwell has been highly influential this season in Mickleover Sports success. Sports are currently in second place in the Sports Traider division, sitting six points behind Widnes but having played five games less. Mickleover are also set up for a brilliant NPLFA Cup semi-final with Widnes having beat Carlton at the end of January. Satchwell has scored five times in five games over January and February and was also named in #TeamOfTheWeek for #MatchweekSixteen and Eighteen. He is a very talented footballer, able to play on either flank or through the middle as a striker. His blistering pace can give defenders nightmares and possesses elite finishing. We are also delighted to hear that Satchwell has recently started trialling for EFL League One side Coventry City.

Amir Hajri – Forward – Widnes Football Club

Widnes’s main talisman has been in superb form over the past two months. He’s found the back of the net nine times in just four games over January and February including a hat trick against Mickleover in #MatchweekFourteen. His goals have helped him be named in #TeamOfTheWeek for #MatchweekThirteen, #MatchweekFourteen (where he was also named ‘Player of the Week!’) and #MatchweekSeventeen. Hajri usually plays as a second striker with Connor Hughes up front but he loves to float around the pitch with a free role to really influence the game.
