THE JORDAN BURNDRED MEMORIAL TROPHY
The NPL Football Academy can announce that the new NPLFA League Trophy has been named ‘The Jordan Burndred Memorial Trophy’ in honour of the Leek Town Academy student who sadly passed away in October.

The trophy which has been purchased by the NPLFA, The Evo-Stik NPL and Leek Town FC was presented to Jordan’s team mates by his family in Stafforshire on Monday morning.
Nicola was delighted that her son’s name will live on in the NPLFA “On behalf of myself and my family, thank you for your continued support. It was an honour to accept your kind offer of the Jordan Burndred Memorial Trophy. It makes me so proud to see so many people coming together in Jordan’s memory”
An NPLFA spokesman commented “Jordan was the model student, his application to both his studies and football was second to none. He quickly gained an understanding of the fantastic opportunity he had been given and was serious about developing as a footballer and as a person, changing his nutrition and putting in extra training to improve himself. We wanted to honour his memory in the best possible way and renaming the new league trophy will ensure he will never be forgotten to current and future students.”
Jordan’s family have set up a memorial fund to help CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death through supporting CRY’s screening programme. The aim is to fund the screening of young people within the local community. For more information please visit https://www.facebook.com/JordanBurndredCRY/timeline
