EWAN SUTHERILL MAKES FIRST TEAM DEBUT

Congratulations to second year #ESPFADerbyshire student Ewan Sutherill who made his first team debut for Belper Town FC in last night's Northern Premier League East Division fixture against Pontefract Collieries.

The 18 year old who is currently the ESPFA's leading goalscorer, made the first team match day squad for the first time in Saturday's home fixture away at Hebburn Town and his introduction in the 69th minute of last nights game saw him become the sixth football graduate to play for player pathway partners Belper Town and the ESPFA's 90th overall since 2014.

Also appearing as a substitute four minutes later was fellow second year student Lewis Austin with both students impressing with the official Belper Town match report stating:-

"The Belper manager turned to youth and brought on Ewan Sutherill for his first team debut and the slightly more experienced academy colleague Lewis Austin. Both academy players didn’t look out of place and made contributions, and they will be players who will be in Lee Attenborough’s plans for next season."

With two games left, both students will be hoping to add to their experience at senior level and end their time on the programme as Champions when they face ESPFA Cheshire (Witton Albion) in the National Grand Final on Thursday 9th May.
