The NPL Football Academy (NPLFA) is delighted to announce that Matlock Town student Declan Fox is progressing to university to study Football Coaching and Management.

Declan joined the programme back in 2016 and will now take his place with Derby County FC in September. “I am going to Derby County Football Club for two years to study football coaching and management. It is something I wish to do in the future and I have ambitions of becoming a full time football coach and I will be starting my UEFA B coaching course this year”

The 17-year old has had a successful two years on the programme and will take away with him many memories. “I have enjoyed the playing and education balance that the programme offers, the top coaches we have had and the good grounds we have played at. The highlight though has to be winning the NPLFA Cup at Stoke City back in May in our last game.

“I would definitely recommend the course to any school leavers out there. It can take you to a higher level in football and it gives you a pathway for university and coaching as well.

“I would like to thank the NPLFA for the hard work and support that the they give us”

Everyone at the NPLFA would like to wish Declan the very best of luck at Derby County and we look forward to catching up with him on his first year of university in 2019.
