REMEMBRANCE DAY 2026

Tomorrow, the students of the ESPFA will once again be raising money for Help for Heroes in the now annual charity fundraising event, which has raised over £3,300 in the last three years.

Students will pair up and complete 'The Somme Seven-Mile Challenge' which is inspired by the Battle of the Somme during the First World War (1916).

During the campaign, British forces advanced approximately seven miles across the battlefield, with the battle resulting in enormous loss of life and devastating consequences for families and communities.

The students in each pair can split the seven-mile distance between them or can complete the full distance together if preferred. The seven-mile challenge provides a symbolic connection to this important moment in history, while recognising the values of teamwork, comradeship, resilience and supporting one another through difficult circumstances.

The students have set themselves a fundraising target of £1000 which anyone can donate to via the following link - https://gofund.me/b30ea2e5a

Good luck to everyone!
