MATCHWEEK TWO - REVIEW

Unfortunately, in typical British fashion, #MatchweekTwo was heavily affected by the rain and only three fixtures played in the NPLFA.

In the Joma Division, the only game that survived the downpour was Leek Town’s home tie against Belper Town. The game finished 2-2, leaving Belper Town at the top of the table on 4 points. The draw also mean’s Leek Town pick up their first point of the campaign and move up to 6th.

In the Sports Traider Division, Skelmersdale United’s first home game in the NPLFA saw them come out on top in a 4-3 thriller against Radcliffe. The game between Widnes and Ossett United was the only other game in the NPLFA that wasn’t postponed. Widnes impressed again, beating Ossett 4-1 and sitting atop of the Sports Trader Division on 6 points with Skelmersdale just behind them on goal difference.

Despite only three games going ahead in the NPLFA for #MatchweekTwo, there was still a huge amount of talent to pick from when choosing the #TeamOfTheWeek. Congratulations to Joshua Niblock of Skelmersdale United who has been named ‘Player of the Week’ after scoring twice in the 4-3 win against Radcliffe.

This week’s edition of the NPLFA #MatchweekTwo Highlights Show might be short on games due to five fixtures being cancelled across the NPLFA, but it’s certainly not lacking in quality. Watch all the action from #MatchweekTwo below.
